hi,my hubby is at stage 5 and he recently had to go for tests to see if he's fit enough for a transplant, when the tests were over the Dr's told him results in 3weeks 2 weeks to go,then hopefully see the renal team, but he's been sick a few times and is sleeping only 2hrs at night , but sleeps in the day as he'svery time then , legs and feet swell up , I'm hoping for his results to come quicker and they start a plan of action before he has a transplant
thanks in advance

Hi! Your husband's symptoms (sleep issues, swelling, etc.) certainly indicate he's at Stage 5. This is the point where you'll want to make sure his nephrologist is aware of anything that is "new" in your spouse's condition. Other changes to look for are appetite and digestive issues, high blood pressure, etc. Simply give your nephrologist a call and provide an update. Hopefully, your nephrologist will be able to reduce his swelling and more. Doing so won't harm his chances of getting on the transplant list. Indeed, reporting his symptoms to his nephrologist will show that he's taking care of himself.
