Family Member needing dialysis what to expect; how to help

Hi everyone, I've been very busy the past couple of weeks someone I know in my family will have to do dialysis I think about 2 times a week. I would rather that and still have him here with us after having a severe case of covid last month. Anyway I was wondering if he would be able to come off of dialysis also; if anyone heard about that? They are expecting him to make a good recovery thank God I've been very uptight since this happened to him so I'm making him up a get well poster board. At my job I took a few pictures of 3 get well soon cards with a very big teddy bear trying to hold it for the front then when it's open & one more picture closer fro the words. I sometimes feel in the slups at times because I just want him out & back home with his wife & son; our one brother doesn't know what to make about how another person is. Because it can sometimes just seem like the person is just going on & that really bothers us because this other person really loves them but here I was told that the person isn't helping. And when he goes home which isn't going to be very soon he's going to need support from everyone there including us and any support groups. I was told from one support group to see if I can get a day or two off I just started this job last year in November & I don't want to chance anything; has anyone been in anything like this & can give me any advice? It would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Check out the site kidneyschool.org ot this book. It is well understood many who've had covid end up with acute kidney failure. Is this what he's been told? If so its very possible to recover fully and be their self again. Blessings

Thank You for the information I really appreciate it I'm going to check out that book we don't know too much right now just that he will need dialysis 2 times a week I believe. We get some information but it's going to be different for him when he gets back they are expecting him to make a good recovery. They don't know the extent what covid did to him & he's still unconscious right now thank God he will be ok but it's going to take him some time of course so I've been thinking of ways to help him on his road to recovery just like I do with everyone. One is I took a few different pictures of a very big teddy bear where I work with 3 different get well soon cards with the bear holding them. This way when he gets home it will give him more incentive to get better; last month they mentioned something about his kidneys & that's when a specialist was going to look at him. Right now I think it's all to see how our brother is going to respond to things at this time I don't know if that helps but I'm trying to help our brother any way I can because we all will need a support group to help him just like with anyone.
