I lost my transplanted kidney in July 2021 after 10 years. Now doing hemodialysis at a center. The staff are not trained well. They don’t sanitize probably. They are not professional at all. I’ve voiced my concerns but have to be careful because of retaliation. It’s awful. My anxiety is through the roof. I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions? Please!

Thank you Barb. I’ve requested to be transferred to a different facility. Will add about 20 miles to my round trip drive. Once settled there I think I need to report this center.
If at all possible try to learn to do home dialysis. We did it for four years and my hubby stayed much healthier and we had more control of it
I’ve looked into that. Where I’m at, for now, I will have to travel 2 hrs one way to be trained. I spend 1/2 the year in the northern part of the country and the other 1/2 in the south. At my home center in NC I’m like 8 minutes to the center. I’m definitely going to train for home hemo when I get back. Thank you!🙂

Talk with your nephrologist office. Your nephrologist is usually associated with a certain dialysis center. He definitely needs to know what is going on in this center. So sorry you have lost your transplant!!
