3rd mth into dialysis. Last few sessions have really felt the fatigue issues, to the point of barely being able to function. I know is normal response to treatment. Does it get any better? Labs are fair.

If you are in center and are at all able, explore PD or Home Hemo.

1) How much weight do you gain between sessions? This is fluid that they take off during dialysis. If it’s a lot, it can make you tired.

2) How long is your dialysis? Taking fluid off too fast (short session) may make you tired.

3) Does your blood pressure drop during dialysis? Ask your nephrologist to review your dry weight and your blood pressure medications.

Home dialysis (PD or home Hemo) and nocturnal dialysis (performed at night over several hours) experience much less fatigue.

Keep us updated about how you get on.
