Congratulations on working towards transplant! Weight loss can be a challenge for everyone, but when you have an important goal, you are more likely to be successful. There are many, many different weight loss diets and programs, and each one fits a different personality.
So the trick is to find a diet that fits with your life style and personality. Are you externally movitvated? If you are, groups like Weight Watchers or Tops, might be just the thing. Are you a numbers person? Phone apps like My Fitness Pal might be right up your alley. Do you hate to cook? Programs like Jenny Craig, that supply you with your meals, might be the answer.....it all depends on what type of person you are, what resources you have, and your cooking skills.
There is no "Magic" way to lose weight. If there was, there would be no overweight people. In general, diets that cut back on the carbohydrates, or starches, for the first two or three weeks, will result in a quick weight loss, which is unfourtnatly mostly water. But, the excitment the excitment of losing a few pounds can motivate you to focus more on your health and acitvity, to get you over the 'plateau' of stable weight.
