Hi my son has been on dialysis for about 2 years now. It is a learning experience every day. God bless those that do dialysis at home. Rob goes to the renal center for his treatments 3 days a week. After his heart attack they had to do dialysis before the Doctor could open his chest to do a 4 by pass.

Hi,

Continue to pray for your son daily. Ask the dialysis social worker if there are any support groups for patients and families. Try to encourage your son to participate in outdoor or social activities on his days off, even if this means going out to dinner. Try to support good positive attitudes and behavior. he is not alone and it can be depressing, so he may need to be on an antidepressant med. Most people deny been depressed, especially men, but who wouldn't be depressed if your life schedule is to go to dialysis 3 times weekly!! He can live a fulfilling life but he needs some support from others to make this possible. Stay hopeful and prayerful!! Contact the National Kidney Foundation to additional information and support!

Thank you for your prayers. He does take Zoloft . Since he had the strokes at age 35 he has been on Zoloft. The Dialysis treatment makes him very tried. Everyone on Dialysis seems to say the same thing. .

The most important thing is to stay up. Don't let other people get you into their frame of mind. Get him to begin the process for a transplant. I just got my transplant on June 6th and it's great!!! No more diaylsis.

He just needs to keep the faith. Don't get discouraged. if
