Hellokidneygirl, Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Sounds like you have already had a wonderful life. My hasn't been that wonderful. If I read you right, we're both too old for a transplant or that is what they told me. Thanks for your support. It keeps me going back.
Hi Kidneygirl!
I'd love to hear about your experiences as a long time dialysis patient. I'm a few months into my second year, I try to be compliant and have a good attitude, but sometimes it's a struggle. Any advice you could share would be great.
Hi Xalamander, nice to meet you. I'm not sure what to tell you. There's a lot to know all at once. Watch you fluids (a sippy cup will help), don't this and don't eat that, I eat it all just smaller portions and I take an extra binder. Pay attention to your body's signals. If you feel tired lay down and rest. Don't let others dictate how you should feel. This is your journey. And accept any help that is offered. If it isn't offered, ask for it. You'll find you can't do some of the things you used to, and that's okay.
I hope that helps.
Have a great day!!!
