Hello everyone! My name is Judy Studdard!!!!! I am new to this and trying to get as much info as I can. I am not on dialysis yet. Will have to at a later time. I feel terrible every day. So tired! I get dizzy when getting out of bed & after getting back in the bed. Not as much output, itch all over my body, no swelling my feet or legs, but swelling in my stomach area and I am anemic. On one hand I am anxious to go on dialysis but I also have some fear about it….My GFR was 24 at last bloodwork. Forgot what my creation was. Enjoyed all the comments that I have read on here. Look forward to reading more!!!! Thanks!!!
Down and Out in MS: Hello everyone! My name... - Kidney Dialysis
Down and Out in MS
Had Dr. Appt.this week. GFR dropped to 18 and creatinine was 2.4. That was my GP. Going to aeenmy Nephrologists in about two weeks and am asking a lot of questions!
All u can do is ask dr what's best for u . I did hemodialysis in center and I didn't do well with it at all I later switched to peritoneal and for me works so much better but every one is different. If your itching so bad sounds like your phosphorus could be high . I have to take phosphorus binders every time I eat because when mine gets a little higher I itch like crazy . I wish u so much luck and my advice is ask your dr every question he has do some investigations on your own about treatments and options and with Dr figure out what's best for you , but do not let a dr force u into anything! I had a horrible dr when I first started out I was finally able to get away from him and found a Dr who listens to me ,and got me on home PD which is what I wanted
I am not on dialysis yet but down to 15% EGFR. I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago and at that time my EGFR was 18% and I even got it up to 21% at one stage but it is steadily going down. I get very tired but I still work full time. As I work for a very large global company and most of my work is on the computer then (since last September) I do four days a week working from home which has helped big time with how I feel. I too itch a lot but it comes and goes. Did you learn any more when you say the nephrologist a couple of weeks back?
