face to face appointment : hi,this is my... - Kidney Disease
face to face appointment

what does your bubbles and foam look like. My nephrologist says that my protein is not enough to cause foam but is see what I think to be foam a lot. How much is your albumin level or protein? I saw a nephrologist and have to follow up in 6 months. I am very concerned.
yeah,my serum albumin is 47/gL and my protein level is 66/gL that is from a blood test in 24th of January, my bubbles and foam vary, but I can tell I am leaking protein because I am wasting away, have to see what gp says on Thursday, but they don't bother till stage 3,instead of getting on it to slow it down in it's early stages.
yeah. I have had 3 tests. One protein creatinine was considered normal at 150 but the albumin creatinine ratio was 66. He said this is mildly elevated. I still see foam quite often. It is unnerving. I have no other symptoms.
I don’t know whether I am overreacting. He thought maybe ibuprofen use was causing my proteinurea but I only got a call from the nurse by voicemail that my albumin was mildly increased and he wants to check again in 6 months. Seeing this foam has me convinced it’s something serious but he insists that it would have to be much, much higher to see foam. He is a specialist. He should know.
If you are stage one, then no real worries but keep away from ibuprofen. My Dr says nothing but parecetamol. Just have a normal diet, drink recommended amount of water, get on with your life and watch those blood test results. Stop the panic, you have a long life ahead if at stage 1or2.
I couldn’t agree more, I am at stage 3 and started to worry and read up on so much stuff!! but I have not progressed and that was 10yrs ago. So apart from obvious things like good hydration and diet, no alcohol etc just enjoy your life and for the people around you when you worry they worry so be easy on them.
I cannot speak for you - don't know how I'll think nor feel, when*if* I reach your age..But I'd encourage asking a doctor for perspective on your health based on their experience.
Not sure it's unhealthy to ask 'where do you see me in 5 years time?'
Which can segue into your focus on living your best life - motivation for the doctor - and whether there's any beneficial action to pursue to mitigate kidney struggles.
Good luck
My various doctors have repeatedly said that many factors can make urine frothy, so best stick to facts: weightloss, how you feel, test results..
