According to the National Kidney Foundation, the normal range for someone age 50–59 is eGFR of 93. See the following link for the article that explains all about eGFR: kidney.org/kidney-topics/es...
I saw that thank you. Which method should be 93 actually there are two methods in my result that one is less than 90 and another one is more than 90
I believe this link clarifies things ukkidney.org/health-profess...
Note key points including:
"NICE guidance recommends use of the 'Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) (2009)' equation"
"'normal' eGFR is defined as 90 ml/min/1.73 m2 or more". So you are normal!
"the CKD-epi (2009) equation is more reliable at higher eGFR than the previous widely used 'Modification of Diet in Renal Disease' (MDRD) formula".
"repeat testing, looking for a progressive decline in eGFR over time is useful".
it depends. Anything above 60 is ok. Do you have any conditions that are tied to ckd. If so, then it may be a sign of loss of kidney function. ALSO a single egfr only measures that day. It can bebeimpacted By something as simple as how much water you drank. You need 3 scores below 60 over a period of time to have cdk. What were your previous egfrs? Talk to your Dr. Also creatine is more important blood than egfr.
