So I am fairly young, in my 20s and was having brown, tea colored urine (high protein, blood) for over a year. It came out of nowhere, no previous health issues. Got seen by a nephrologist and got bloodwork done, tested positive for ANCA (mpo). Normal kidney function per bloodwork. I started high dose prednisone and underwent a kidney biopsy a month later. However.. the biopsy results came back that there was no evidence of anca vasculitis. A month after the biopsy, my urine was completely clear, no blood or protein.
Has anyone had something similar happen to them? My doctor thought I had some type of mild anca vasculitis that was partially treated by the high prednisone I was taking. Not sure tho, my urine has been clear ever since this but my anca ab continues to be positive.

I was diagnosed with ANCA positive Vasculitis. My consultant put me on a very high dose of prednisone too. He was convinced it would help. Unfortunately it didn't. I am now on dialysis. That's great news about your blood work etc. Obviously the steroids did their job. I presume they will still be keeping a close eye on you and doing regular tests. If you don't have a healthy lifestyle, make changes TODAY!! Wishing you all the best
I have a friend who had a similar experience with vasculitis. Wiped her kidneys out. They had hoped she would get back her function, but she did not. She is on dialysis for life as she was disqualified for transplant. Glad you made out OK.
