Fever

I have stage 3a or 3b kidney disease. I didn't feel well 3 days ago and took a Covid test. Definitely positive. Now I have a fever up to 102.2 F. What can I take to lower the fever and also take for pain relief?

I think the most important thing to remember is to stay hydrated. Drink water! I was just sick with COVID and I took one paracetamol (500mg) twice a day for two days. Not sure about that - but I think it’s safe.

Nurse here. Always need to take two Paracetamol for it to work. So 2x500mg tablets. If you only take one it won’t be enough for the pain centre in the brain to register it. It’s safe for kidney disease to take twice a day. People without it can take four doses a day. Check with your doctor if you need more doses. Paracetamol is called many different names around the world but it will always say paracetamol in the small print. Other common names are Tylenol Panadol Panamax
