GFR dropped from 109 to 78 within a year

So I recently had a painful episode of gross hematuria and was treated by a healthcare provider. I was given a Rocephin shot and an oral antibiotic. I followed up with my PCP and labs were drawn. Everything was normal except my GFR which has dropped from 109 to 78 over the course of a year. Should I be concerned with the change in my GFR and cannot return to baseline ?

Concern, yes, but not worry. Were you adequately hydrated? Try upping your water intake and ask for retake of lab.

It's been a hot summer and if you don't stay hydrated it's real easy for it to effect your creatinine and eGFR. Lowaraind is right, make sure you drink more water and have your labs repeated. When my lab results are out of the ordinary, my doctor repeats my labs two weeks later. Usually it is lab error, or I was dehydrated
