My adequacy last time was 2.1 I know it needs to be 1.7 or above. I do PD manually. Just wanting to know what is a good number and how often you do the adequacy test Thank you

It can differ from clinic to clinic. I thought I could Google info for you, but it was all over the place. Some said 2, others said 1.7. My clinic, which is home hemo wants above 2. I am at 2.7 or with my urine output is 3.2. I do a blood test for it every month and then every three months, I do a urine collection. I have a lot of residual kidney function, hence why it is so high.

Thank you I know they don’t check your GFR once you start dialysis, but I had labs done for my urologist and he checked my GFR and it’s about 10.5 I’m trying to keep what kidney function I have left. Thanks for replying you always have great information Thanks again

You said you have a lot of residual kidney function left. Do they check your GFR at our clinic? How much kidney function do you have left? Thank You

NO, they do not use GFR at my clinic and I wish they did. I would be curious to know what it is. How much residual kidney function do I have? Well, when they had me fill one of the little red jugs last time over night (24 hour collections) I almost filled a 2500 ml jug. 😁
