I am off this afternoon for my follow up appointment for lithotripsy after my first one at the end of December. I am rather concerned because the first one was very painful in my right buttock and down my right leg, I didn’t get any pain from from the lithotripsy spot I could feel it but nothing bad just my lower back and leg. Fingers crossed when they look this time the stone has already gone. I spent the whole of Christmas with a kidney infection not fun.
When I had a lithotripsy about 18 months ago I ended up having an operation after stone got lodged in the tube from kidney to bladder.
Has anyone else had these issues with a stone removal?

Boy did I have problems! I first went to a local hospital for lithotripsy, and the dr said they weren’t stones, and didn’t know what they were, referred me to a teaching hospital. Had bilateral lithotripsy, resulting in bleeding of both kidneys, and had to have interventional radiologist stop the bleeding. Also both lungs collapsed. This was 2 years ago and feel pretty good, and was in icu for 2-3 weeks. I never realized how sick I was. The doctor is excellent, and just one of those unfortunate complications. Good luck to you!
