Two common questions that people are asking when they are diagnosed with CKD are about Diet and monitoring and understanding Test results.

Here is an excellent resource: for both

Stage 3 Kidney Disease: The Ultimate Guide To A Healthy Diet

plantpoweredkidneys.com/chr...

Much of the information is relevant to other stages as well.

The National Kidney Foundation Facebook group has some excellent Podcasts by renal dietitians about diet and helpful tips.

I listened to a couple so far about superfoods and diet, lots of great content that includes some basic tips that I found helpful.

My goal is to find good quality information sources and learn a little bit every day. Then I try to implement what I learn a little bit each day, it can be quite overwhelming.

I’m finding so much out of date content and a lot geared towards people trying to monetize their information

Link to one of the NKF Podcasts relating to CKD:

When you go to the link scroll down to find the list of available podcasts to listen to I didn’t have to install a podcast app and my phone played it I’m new to podcasts so am uncertain about what is required to listen to it otherwise.

I would love to hear from others on what resources that you have found helpful.

Best wishes everyone!

I have used NKF and their pod casts/ education webinar's the most as I find they are current.

I struggle with getting bored with the recipes I find and like. Then, I have to find a few new ones and I'm satisfied again. It's work but worth it. Thanks for all the information you shared.

You are most welcome. I have another source that I will post later, I need access to the group to evaluate the content.

Especially hard when my general practitioner doesn’t seem to think that Stage 3 is a big deal and I don’t have to change anything other than manage my blood pressure. Luckily being in the Australian healthcare system she was still happy to refer me to a renal specialist. I’m prediabetic, high cholesterol (but she thinks I don’t need statins) and overweight, so very happy for a renal specialist to manage my medications and diet and send me for more tests. So grateful to get good info here so that I can try and prevent my kidneys from getting any worse

My PCP advised I "monitor my protein, monitor bp and begin Losartan" (ARB), at start of CKD 3A. EGFR back up to 85, 72, 81, 89 & 92.After diagnosis, I started researching, found help with Renal Dietitian, podcast r/t "plant-based diet" and stats regarding this approach, Also viewed Davita website, NKF, AKF, etc. Later, I struggled with anxiety, depression and fear but I found this site, where other's with similar dx shared their experiences and knowledge.

It has helped me cope with the uncertainty and drastic lifestyle change. We are not alone.
