urgency in CKD stage 3: Hi, I am new to this... - Kidney Disease
urgency in CKD stage 3
Madnanny, At stage 3, I had no idea I even had CKD. Do you drink a lot of water, because I have always done that. I mean at least 2 liters a day. And that will make you pee. But if you are not drinking a lot of water, and this urgency is new, then I would call the doctor and get tested for a UTI. And don't mess around with UTIs and think you can just get over it. They are common in older folks and people who do not drink a lot of fluids. Also, check any medications you are on. Some cause urgent urination. You can check with a pharmacist.
I am also Stage 3a. First thing is to accept. Stop the panic. Look on YouTube for all the kidney doctors that are giving free advice to stop the damage. I am not eating all the sugar as I was. I want to cut sugar out. I am a veggie, but am moving to a total Vegan. I listen and make grocery lists from what is healthy for my kidneys. I don't put anything in my mouth that will damage. I spoke to my Kidney doctor about all the medications to cut down or cut out the ones that damage my kidneys.
Calm down. Stress is not good for anyone. The Bible says, fruits with seeds is for healing.
Bless you!
i do.stay, off google, and if it continues with water intake tell your doctor
Urinary frequency is probably not be from your kidney disease. Its more of a urinary tract /habit /fluid imbalance issue. Respect to you, assuming the age of 81 correct. I've been getting up throughout the night ever since my hormone to suppress pee during sleep petered out. Can't complain though. Good luck figuring it out- if it starts to sting, even a little, or the urine is a bit cloudy, get checked for a UTI.
I agree with Bassetmommer - you should be tested for a UTI. As females age, we tend to get vaginal atrophy from lack of estrogen, which can cause UTIs, pain, itchiness and incontinence. It may or may not be related to your CKD, so it would be good to rule it out! Take care!
Agree with everyone recommending getting your situation checked. If it's a UTI, it can cause lots of issues - including mental confusion or delirium for older folks. I think I would fear that the most - losing my mind to a UTI. Thankfully, it's reversible.
