Pompa Protocol

Just a quick question. Does anyone know if this protocol is safe on CKD?

I'm waiting for my appointment with a new Nephrologist, the last one just didn't help with anything other than, drink plean8of water and stay under 60 gr protein.

In the mean time I have been taking Resveratrol. Went from gfr at 33 to 37, quit weight trying but walk 5k to 8+k a day, and most recently gft up to 41. I also started up an occasional Electrolyte in my water. I'll let you know what happens after I see new Dr.

My Doctor put me on a CKD diet based on eGFR and blood work for protein, phosphorus, potassium and protein. I also walk most days. I have been on diet for 6 years. My eGFR has improved. Keep us posted on your progress.

I asked my Primary Physician for Renal Diet/ Dietician and he said I didn't need one. So, I thought the Pompa Protocol would be good to try out. But now I'm scared. With my co-morbiditys & the results of taking other nutrient enhancers and metabolical strengthens my egfr numbers dropped dramatically. This new Protocol would have me taking Cellular level accentuation, diet, and fasting. The test (litmus like) showed I have extremely high inflammation, which when corrected would put me in great health?? Am I just desperate or is this possible?

We are not allowed to diagnose on this web site, so cannot advise you on your condition. Perhaps a dietitian can give you information on your conditions and diet.

This protocol is based on the belief of Dr. Daniel Pompa that autoimmunity which can result in the development of autoimmune diseases such as RA, lupus and coeliac disease can be reversed. Certainly a lot of his advice could lead to a healthier lifestyle, but there are many recommendations which could impact negatively on some conditions. Medical advice should always be sought before following any type of health or wellness regime of which many exist, often online via YouTube. Any supplements or special diets should be suitable for each condition that you have, and should be approved by the health professionals managing your care. Unfortunately this can be complicated when you have several conditions each requiring different treatments. Traumatic and stressful events such as you have experienced in recent years will have, no doubt, caused damage both physically and mentally, which may take time to heal. Hopefully you will be given some helpful advice soon.

Pompa is not and MD or OD. A simple google search finds tons of Better Business Bureau complaints. I've seen he's published books, but somehow couldn't find a single medical study published in a peer reviewed journal.

Fascinating article on how he stole 1.4 million from his adopted children.

Can I ask; how many grams of Resveratrol? There seems to be a lot of options?

Based on my BMI, 5'5" 134#, no diabetes, no high BP, Blood work all fine other than that stupid eGFR and Creatine ratio,; I take 400-1400 mg a day (I rotate, 400 for 1 day and 1000 mg the next.) I base it on blood work and health for the last week or 2. For me it seems to help. But remember, I'm also into fruits & a few veggies so I get some help from the plant based foods too. Before taking anything new I always check with my Primary. He researches and lets me know what he finds and his opinion. Ultimately though, it always comes down to our own choices.Be safe.
