Has anyone heard of Stive Health. Supposedly they partner with nephologists and will offer a new standard of health care for kidney patients. I just got a call from them, they inferred they were with my health care system of which my neph is not a part of. She said she misunderstood what I asked. She had a survey that was mandated by Medicare. I answered her questions, none were personal, type mostly just how I was getting along. When I found out she wasn't with TriHealth i told her to erase all my answers and I would take it up with my doctor at my next visit. But, wonder if anyone has heard of them.

Not sure where you are located but there is a Strive Kidney Care and here is the link. strivehealth.com/

I went through the site and it was so vague and constantly asking for contact info.

The way they asked you questions and not being clear on why or what they wanted......I think..SCAM....

I think so too. She did mention my doctor's name and she knew I had CKD. I looked at their web site and it looks good on the surface, but they don't have much actual info. Oh, and I'm in Ohio.

Not necessarily a scam but definitely look like a small starting business trying to pretend it's an established one.

Hard to say. Maybe someone will have dealt with them. I will ask my doctor when I see her Monday.

I wonder if it's a type of home healthcare that meets with you regularly to answer your questions, guide your diet, and your treatment decisions. Not a replacement for your nephrologist, but an added support for kidney patients. If so, I wonder if a nephrologist has to order this service so insurance will pay or if you pay out-of-pocket, etc. On the other hand, it may not be this at all. I'm sure the community here would like to know what you find out from your team.

That would be nice if that is what it is. I will let the group know after my doctor visit and what she has to say.

This is not homecare..... but a supplemental system that looks like more for in center dialysis support. I think they are looking to support kidney patients but..... it was too scketchy for me to trust.

In our area, Colorado, we have a new group called "Evergreen Nephrology" that works with our Nephrology group to supposedly help us. They are Medicare driven and are supposed to take pressure off of the Nephrology Clinic we go to. However, we were informed that it was happening by our Clinic. Also received informationin the mail and at our appointment. We too have received phone calls asking how my husband was doing. Just another layer that we no control over but hope it may be of benefit for us.

Yes...that's what I think may be happening. I was struck by their willingness to come to your home and/or hold online visits. That's what made me think it's somewhat similar to home healthcare. I know a lot of nephrologists and clinics are really short staffed - so Medicare and insurance companies are stepping into that gap to deliver prophylactic and preventative care; it saves them money while improving one's quality of life. Interestingly, my supplemental insurance carrier (Aetna) sends me notices that they will send a nurse over to my home to check me out for free if they notice I haven't had my annual physical. There's a movement towards more preventative care in the US.

Strive is legit. My first year and half of being diagnosed with CKD, my senior healthcare group (Conviva) contracted with Strive.

They only serve patients with CKD. They were awesome. I had a four person team consisting of renal dietician, nurse, social worker and team manager. They set up phone call appts and have email support.

My dietician (kelli) was incredibly helpful helping me adjust to a diet. We talked about recipies i commonly used, and i was able to email her with the ones that were closer to a renal diet, and she adjusted them and sent the new nutritional amount per portion.

I also went through condiments etc, and she advised what were healthier choices. I lost 50 lbs that year.

Unfortunately Conviva dropped the contract, so my support system became more fragmented until i started dialysis. For anyone trying to stay off dialysis, if their service is offered, i highly recommend their team approach. I credit them for helping me. Postpone starting dialysis
