no you re not.but you need to talk to a nephrologist as to why your numbers are up.
Please discuss with your Doctor about your bloodwork results and go over them. There is much can be done to slow progression. Here is a link explaining the new eGFR calculation and information on discussing with Doctor. kidney.org/newsletter/what-....
Keep us posted.
The good news is much can be done to at least manage the condition and without drugs. My mum 67y/o, CKD 3) has been able to increase her eGFR from 36 to ~60 over 5y or so by improving her nutrition and lifestyle only 🤞🤞Others on here have done similarly.
She was also shocked when eGFR fell a few mths ago from 76 to 46, probably after less hydration ie. slipping from the protocol we set. She's now back on track at ~60 level (2 tests).
A lot of things can affect creatinine. Hydration is a big one. You should definitely talk about your results with your Dr and then see what you creatinine is the next time. Is this your new base line, or just a one off result.
Dear April,
Something has 'Triggered' a Reaction, in you, and it's put your 'Numbers/ Parameters' a bit Out Of Kilter. If this was your car.... it would be Running A Bit Rich and would need Some Attention- clearly you are NOT a car but, nevertheless the analogy 'Holds'.
In my case creatinine was Never A Good Indicator, of my Renal Function- it wasn't until I developed 'Quite a Number' of Other Factors ( Manly a Nose Bleed, that required Medical Intervention) that I had to Start Dialysis. I was Transplanted, in July 2013, and appear Stable currently.
So No I DON'T think you are Going To Die, well Not from 'this' anyway, but I would- at least- Talk to your Doctors/ Consultants April. I know that this is definitely 'Easier Said Than Done' but... Try NOT To Worry, too much babe.
Please Know that you can Contact ANY, of us, should you want/ need to April. We are Not, generally speaking, Medical People but we do have, between us, a Very Extensive 'Collective Knowledge'. I know that we ALL wish you well

Hi, I had eGFR of 24 and my doctors were shocked as it was normal on previous blood tests (every 3 months), turns out I was dehydrated at the time of the blood test, Now its usually in the 40s or 50s. Its still CKD but its hard to be scared. I'm careful about weight and diet now. I realize this is an old post and you have probably been retested by now. Hope things are better! And you're over the fear part!
