hello my nephrologist ordered all kinds of bloodwork. That was included in blood work . minus room running high Doctor said that’s not unusual with people with CKD. was sent to hematologist for work up my primary care doctor. Hematologist been following me for almost 2 years. He said it’s most likely kidney related . he has me come in every six months I do bloodwork and skeleton x-ray. he said it’s just keep an eye on my number. Wish I knew more about this Carol

Kapps light Chains:

If the amount of free light chains is higher or lower than normal, it can mean you have a disorder of the plasma cells. These include multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells, and amyloidosis, a condition that causes a dangerous buildup of proteins in different organs and tissues.

Having said that, If your doctor says you're ok I'd go with that.

its a test i was given when when i was diagnosed with proteinuria.they do kappa light chains and lambda light chains and then figure out through some calculation that gives you a kappa lambda ratio number which is used to try and determine if you may have various other diseases such as hidden mentioned above. if you research this it will explain what this is all about in greater detail. im sure they would have informed you if there was a problem.
