I see many comments from CKD folks using CBD for pain. Some mention smoking, some take gummies, others are enrolled with state medical cannabis programs. Meanwhile, transplant centers appear to be strongly opposed to CBD use. They equate cannabis to heroin. Are those of you taking CBD for pain not on a transplant list? Do you just lie about taking it? Or does your transplant program not care? Thanks

CBD and transplant list
I just reread your question.
CBD and Cannabis are not the same. There are no hallucinogenic compounds in CBD. It has no THC in it. It is usually in an oil form. I have never heard of anyone smoking CBD. It was suggested to me by the top hematologist in my medical center to use it. I found it did not really work for the cost of it, so I stopped. The transplant center, also same medical center, I am listed with didn't give a hoot.
Cannabis is dope. Marijuana, big difference. This they may have an issue with, I do not know. But it certainly is not heroin. Sheesh.
All illegal drugs, including marijuana, was on a list. I had to indicate if I'd ever taken. They also focus on alcohol. But not on LEGAL drugs, many of which are worse for you than pot. Gummies just got legalized here, but I don't want to get booted off the list.
It's legal in Canada and has been for a long time, both cannabis and CBD, it's a non-issue at my center, I have ner had to lie to my doctors about using it.
I had a donor who was a cannabis smoker. They would not approve him as a donor until he abstained from using it for several months. They tested him monthly and finally approved him after several months of clean tests.
