Maybe he figures if you get loaded enough, you won't care about your CKD.....

Just CBD is the biggest snake oil come-on in years. It does nothing, but maybe help a bit with anxiety. If it is really has THC in it, most have less the .03% THC in them, then were talking.

I am wondering if anyone on the transplant list uses or knows if it is against the rules to use THC gummies. It is not illegal anymore.

I'm on the transplant list and they told me no cbd etc etc no illegal drugs no smoking no vaping or no transplant

seabreezegirl profile image
seabreezegirl in reply toallene7

CBD is Not illegal. THC can be in some states .it is so sad that some medical people do not know thd difference between them .

allene7 profile image
allene7 in reply toseabreezegirl

I understand that but..... for whatever reason my transplant center says nope. Their ruler so I follow them. I have never asked why maybe I should,

seabreezegirl profile image
seabreezegirl in reply toallene7

It eould give upu a change to fo dome education about the differences between CBD and THC .

Maybe take some printed material along to explain the difference. CBD does NOT get

anyone high .

I does help with pain and sleep.

"t eould give upu a change to fo dome education about the differences between CBD and THC ." Huh?

barbara55109 profile image
barbara55109 in reply toseabreezegirl

It isn't about the illegality. Smoking isn't illegal and they won't allow that either.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I would not take the chance anyways to screw up my transplant list time. Too precious. I took CBD oil in 2020 and it was expensive and supposedly a high-end product. NO THC in it. My hematologist recommended it. It did sort of calm me a bit during all the fun of 2020. But for $90 a bottle, which lasted about a month, I did not find it worth it. AND, you never know what else is in it. Most CBD oils are actually hemp oil, and have little to no effect other than placebo effect. You want it to work and so it does.

seabreezegirl profile image
seabreezegirl in reply toBassetmommer

Depends on the company you buy from .

It must have 3 rd party testing and be organic . This way you know what is in it .

And yes it is expensive but it works well for pain and helps with sleep . CBD does NOT get a person "high " at all . It is actually good for the body .

I was told by my team that one of the big worries about pot was mold. No matter how good the strain of pot, or how careful the grower, you still get a certain amount of mold. BTW, I have never once had my blood tested for THC, or anything else, for that matter. It's kind of and honor system. I quit smoking in favor of Gummies!! Or, brownies. Either is fine.

Bassetmommer profile image

It would be my luck they test me.

barbara55109 profile image
barbara55109 in reply toPeaB4YouGo

At my intake I got tested for THC!

If they'd have tested me, they'd have to deny me for organs I don't even need, yet. LOLOL

It makes sense to me. CBD is for wishful thinkers. Doesn't seem to provide any real value

barbara55109 profile image
barbara55109 in reply toBassetmommer

My program is adamant too. No CBD, no gummies, no smoking, I don't drink, but I suspect alcohol may be on the list too.

Darlenia profile image

Yes! Our transplant didn't allow use of a lot of things - tobacco, alcohol, etc. They can ban any substance that's bad for a transplant - illegal or legal. And your blood and urine is tested so don't try lying, lol! Ours didn't tell us they were doing so when they were collecting routine blood and urine samples but when we checked the lab reports it became evident since illegal drug data as well as tobacco, and alcohol use was included with all the other information. They did warn my hubby, during my hubby's orientation visit, that doing this would disqualify him.

Same here. I found out when I saw the results.

I think it was a scam of sorts. I've seen a lot of ads from famous people for this and that that aren't real. I doubt Dr Gupta is a crook but who knows.

SpringsteenFan87 profile image

I don’t believe Sanjay Gupta had anything to do with that scam ad you saw. He wouldn’t be involved in anything like that. Nor do I believe Shark Tank was, either. Do a google search and you will probably find out it’s a scam and they’re using those respected and well known brands to sell their products without authorization.

drmind profile image
drmind in reply toSpringsteenFan87

I agree that this definitely sounds like a scam. Dr. Gupta is a renowned neurosurgeon at Grady Hospital, a professor of neurosurgery at Emory University, and a medical consultant for CNN among other things. So, He doesn't need to sell gummies and especially some that treat CKD! Its fairly common these days to advertise products to sell that are allegedly used or produced by respected people without their authorization.

please see the link below. I have seen this false advertising before, so I checked it out. Several links say that this is a phony marketing ploy. Dr. Sanjay Gupta is not affiliated with this outfit.

You could report it I'm sure some agency is tracking scams. I know the FBI and the Treasury Dept have fraud departments.

Unfortunately, it happens all the time. The trick is to not repeat the mistake.

He is a promoting whore though the site is probably using his me illegally without compensation. That is a marketing ploy used many times for manu prodicts. Saying It was on Shark Tank is supposed to legitimize effectiveness - really? Lol. No it won't cure kidney diseases

Plus the fact that there is no cure.

Does anyone know if CBD/THC is safe to take for anxiety when you also have CKD stage 3? I find conflicting information out there on the web.

Bassetmommer profile image
BassetmommerNKF Ambassador in reply toMissy1950

So as the conversation goes, if you read through it. CBD is safe, THC is a mind-alternating drug and not good, especially if you are planning on going for eval for transplant. Read above.

Missy1950 profile image
Missy1950 in reply toBassetmommer

No transplant. I’ve been in stage 3 for 12 years. I know that THC is mind altering but in low doses (like in gummies that I have) it reduces my anxiety and keeps my heart from palpitating). Just was wondering if it’s ok for kidneys. Like I said, I’ve found conflicting information.

Hi. A few month ago I saw the same advertisement with Tom Hanks giving high praise for the gummies. After I had ordered some, my credit card notified me that they blocked this purchase because it is fraudulent. They saved me a lot of money. I thanked them. It's bogus, those famous people don't advertise for this products.

Don’t believe everything you see on TV or online. If you want a kidney transplant you shouldn’t do any of those drugs or alcohol. It does show up on your labs.
