rash and kidney disease : is anyone else... - Kidney Disease
rash and kidney disease
It's hard to tell what kind of rash it is and where is it?
Did you get into something you are allergic too? maybe a call to the doctor or UC?
My kidney doctor said it’s coming from my kidney disease but I was just wondering if anyone else is dealing with it
I've had this on the palms of my hands and my eyelids (oddly). The eyes really bothered me and the patches on my hands get raw and even bleed. I've been treating with hydrocortizone cream. My eyelids cleared up but started return after I stopped with the cream. The hand patches have remained; sometimes better, sometimes worse. I never connected this with the CKD.
I would check with your kidney specialist doctor about the rash .
I could mean you are in a flare . Or it could be somthing else altogether .
Kidney doctor told me it’s the poison coming out of the skin
Before I was diagnosed with CKD, I had a rash and Dermatologist treated me for it. I believe it was associated with kidney function. Since on CKD diet I do not have the rash.
I'm only stage 3 CKD - I always thought the rashes were associated with more advanced disease. I probably shouldn't assume things!
Have had rash and kidney complaint for last 2!yesrs. Dermatologist says it’s eczema? Not sure? My best relief is using a frozen pack,?like you would use on your muscles. It helps with the itching a bit
I had a similar one but it was in patches on my arms, stomach, thighs. Doctor ran blood tests and for some strange reason I have developed allergies to wheat, eggs, soy. Dr. said that sometimes allergies will develop with ckd and sometimes they aren't related. I have been avoiding foods with those ingredients and no new rashes. Hope that helps.
I have rashes all the time, but didn't think it was connected to CKD. I also have Sjogren's so this isn't a controlled experiment.
get a new nephrologist, skin problems and itching are issues with CKD usually associated with. Stage 3b and worse but it’s not “poison” coming out of the skin. If that answers is reflective of your “Kidney doctors” normal approach to you as the patient it is a reflection of her both lack of knowledge and lack of empathy….Get a Jew kidney doctor. That is not a satisfactory answer and their are treatments for the skin issues and itching related to CKD, just my opinion of course. I wish you the best of luck in your quest of great health?
