Zinc and CKD5

Does anyone know if Zinc is ok to take if you have CKD 5 Thank you

Hi... I asked my doctor about zinc and he said not to take it since I have a gfr of 12. Too hard to process ...but the best thing would be to ask your dr. God bless and hang in there.

I’m glad for your post. I did not know this but it explains a lot. I’ve been noticing a lot more fluid retention recently and I wonder now if this may be due to the fact that I was taking zinc every single day for awhile there. I was always under the impression that zinc helps ward off infection and colds, etc. I should’ve done some research before going full steam ahead with it. Thank you for your post. God bless. 😊👍🙏

Personally, I would ask my nephrologist first. I also would go to National Kidney Foundation, they have a wonderful list of OTC drugs that are safe for CKD. Good Luck and God Bless.
