progressing Ckd

I was diagnosed with Ckd more than 20 yrs ago. It was considered at the time that I had IgA nephropathy but decided against biopsy as eGFR was stable.

I now live in Spain and have my kidney function checked by GP.

Over the yrs it was continued to stay around mid 50's to high40's.

Most recent eGFR was 40 with creatine at 1.37. I have high Bp controlled by lisinopril.( female 66 yrs) as well as various digestive issues.

I am currently waiting for an appointment with nephrologist.

In the last few weeks I have been feeling rather unwell, tired, nausea,

frequent urination and a strong sour smell in my sweat. This is something I find strange as my personal hygiene is high.

I'm obviously concerned that my Ckd is now progressing and maybe I should have biopsy for confirmation of cause.

I would appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thank you

Ace (like Lisinopril) and ARBs are the standard treatment for IgAN. If you have digestive issues Tarpeyo might be something to consider but I don’t know if it’s approved yet in Spain. I’d do what the doctors recommend. I also suggest the Iga Nephropathy Facebook group. Good luck!
