CKD 2?

I know no diagnoses made here. I will see doctor at earliest, but my questions...

1) If egfr is 88 and report says CKD 2. does it means really Means I have CKD 2? What result would have if I was more hydrated? CKD 1? With my age range 90 is normal.

2) If egfr is 90, that means kidneys are normal?

3) Is it possible to have 1.05 creatinine and 88 egfr with other issue than CKD?

Please provide view point wise. I have too much anxiety and fear.

Hi there, I don’t know what country you are in but in the UK, if you have a GFR of over 60 with no evidence of kidney damage then you are considered normal and not diagnosed with CKD so it may be fine for you and it’s possible that your doctors won’t be concerned. 88 is only just below the normal of 90 and it may just be that you were dehydrated when you took the test? I believe you also need to have 3 blood tests over a period of several months that show a consistently low GFR before diagnosis (again in the UK). See you doctor but I wouldn’t be worried.

Hi Jul, thanks for your kind words. Yes, 88 is considered good. But my urine is foamy. Is that evidence? Doctor was not worried. He asked for urea and b12 test + egfr after 3 months. Let's hope for best

GFR is a snap shot of your filter rate at the day and time it was taken. There is a lot involved in diagnosing CKD. Wait until you have a series of tests that show a decline in GFR before you get all worried.

I agree Bassetmommer. In my situation, it took more bloodwork than eGFR to make a diagnosis

my dr said dont worry about that - could be you have soft water - if all your blood work is good - u are fine -

apopnj01,

We do not diagnose here on this site. Please refrain from doing that or telling someone they are fine based on your experience. You do not have the full medical picture of the person.

Thanks

It probably means that you should eat right and find something else to worry about because this just isn't it. Most people on this forum have a gfr of 25 or less and would kill for an 88. I would suggest that you review the meaning of hypochondriac and go from there. Oh yeah, my gfr is 22.

Thanks Oldearkie. I agree with you. Most of my symptoms were due to stress and anxiety.

There is no reason for you to belittle someone and minimize their concern. We aren’t drs and don’t make diagnoses. That also includes psychiatry. People have questions, find this forum and should feel comfortable asking them. How do you know most people in this group have a gfr of 25 or less? I don’t. Does that mean I don’t belong or am “less than”? My gfr dropped from 58 to 34 in 2 months. I guess when my level hits 25 or less I’ll feel more like a group member. You were out right rude to this person. How would feel if someone reacted to you the way you did to Groupmate? I’m sorry you’re level is 22 but don’t attack someone verbally because they ask a question. And if you’re having a bad day try doing something kind to yourself rather than coming here and being snarky and rude to others.
