what can be done for a albumin/creatinine ratio of 62mg/g?
Albumin/creatinine ratio: what can be done... - Kidney Disease
Albumin/creatinine ratio
Mum's last result (Oct 20) was 79.4 after converting from 8.97 mg/mol via scymed.com/en/smnxps/psdjb2....
For her proteinuria, we are focused on a low carb diet with the option to reduce protein later as many on here have done eg with plant diet.
Ok, help me out here, my last lab says: BUN/Creat Ratio is "9". How would that convert with your conversion formula? And is that worse than your Mum's 8.97 or better. Which way is better, larger or smaller number? Can't remember for the life of me right now.
I believe ACR and BUN Creat Ratio are different things with the former being for urine and the latter (blood urea nitrogen to creatinine ratio) for blood or serum.
Mum hasnt ever had BUN measured but her last serum readings include:
- urea (mmol/l) steady at ~12 mmol/l (N range 2.5-7.8)
- creatinine ~72 umol/L (N = 40-95)
- eGFR 76ml/min (Note from 36 post-nephrectomy)
Hope this helps.
Note also BUN Creat Ratio has no units as it both BUN and creatinine are normally measured in mg/dl so their ratio is unit-less whereas the converter I used is to convert to/from mg/mol and mg/g.
This is what I found as I had no idea it was a thing:
The ratio of BUN to creatinine is usually between 10:1 and 20:1. An increased ratio may be due to a condition that causes a decrease in the flow of blood to the kidneys, such as congestive heart failure or dehydration.
If I take my BUN of 23 divided by my creatinine of 2.35 I get 9.79. I know I'm not dehydrated and don't have heart problems so I'm guessing mine is ok?
