Farxiga

I have been given option to start Farxiga. I am stage 3b with no diabetes. What experiences have you had with this drug? What side effects?

HI green,My husband is on Farxiga. He was having a steady decline in function and his diabetes was not stable. He started Farxiga in September. Last lab showed a big increase in kidney function, and he went for stage3b to 3a, almost stage 2. His diabetes is so much better as well. No side effects for him.

I discussed it with my neph, but the Lisinopril 2.5 mg has stopped the protein leakage, so no SGLT 2 inhibitor for now.

Two days on the drug and my ass hasn't fallen off ..

You'd have to dig around my posts over the last few days but there was a pic which explained both ACE/ARB or/and SGLT2's (farxiga) working. It was all about lowering BP through the kidney. Both drugs mean less pressure. As to " ought I go on them now?" I don't know but I would check it out..

My nephrologist suggest forxiga or jardiance with low dose as I am not diabetic, I am on jardiance now for 5 month, at first you will see your creatinean going up but after 1 month it might be stable. As it is provide protection to your kidney and with very low side effect why not going with it.
