I'm moving to the Cincinnati area later this month. Can anyone suggest a good nephrologist there?

Or how to go about finding a new and good doctor. I've tried zocdoc but they can't seem to come up with anyone.

I am in the area as well so I'm just following to see which suggestions pop up. Husband has a first time appointment coming up so I cannot give you a recommendation to his doctor yet but will keep you updated.

Please do. I'm anxious about finding a new one. If you don't mind, can you share the doctor's name?

Sure thing. But he's in NKY. Dr. AI N Tran. My husband hasnt been officially diagnosed yet and this will be his first Nephrologist appointment. But he has persistent proteinuria and his blood test are in the stage 2 category.

He looks good. Rather far from where I will be, about 35 miles but if he's good might be worth the trip. I will be in Maineville, are you close?

I am adding him to my list. Just in case. Does he like the newest way to test GFR or is he more old school?

Thanks, he looks pretty good too.

Don't know. He will have a litholink test(independent 24 hr urine) ordered. It is a better determination of ckd issues. If you keep to proper meds, good renal diet you should be okay. Creatinine and b.u.n are the most important numbers for ckd. We often get too wrapped up in our numbers. And this is worrying. IF you can get a COMPETENT doctor who will listen-- that is the blessing I wish you well.

You can just google "Cincinnati Nephrologist in area". Several Nephrology Clinics will come up. Can click on their websites. Find individual doctors and then look them up individually.OR

Can google "Best Nephrologist in Cincinnati area" and can look up individual doctors and see reviews.

This is what I did when we moved from the Milwaukee area to Casper, WY. I was ready to go down to Denver, U of CO for my kidney care. I found out there was great care right here in Casper.

That's right, I had forgotten that Medicare has lists of doctors. I'll look there too Thanks

Oh no, will never go to anything other than original Medicare. I can go where and see whoever I want. No problems. also have tricare4life as secondary. I've yet to pay a dime for anything

Tricare4life is retired military on Medicare. They pay for all meds with very low co-pays. 10 29 & 49. They pick up the 20% Medicare doesn't pay for.

Thanks, we don't pay our military a lot but the benefits are great, especially if you stay for 20+years.
