Increase of LDL Cholesterol suddenly.

HI I asked my GP this but she doesn’t know. I take Lovastatin for High cholesterol. For many years all my numbers have been well within normal range. Never a spike I also make sue I eat very healthy.

So I just got my latest lab test and was shocked to see ONLY my LDL went up to 111 usually it has been well in normal range for years, All other cholesterol values stayed within normal range as usual, no change in HDL etc. Nothing changed. Meds the same, diet the same. Drinking water the same.

This is where I wonder it seems far fetched but the only thing I can think of.

Two weeks before my blood test I had some serious dental work and a great amount of Novocain. That is it, could that have effected my LDL I know weird but I cannot think of anything else. Thank you for your thoughts.

The spike in your LDL can stem from a number of things and possibly your medication. However, a doctor would need to confirm that so I recommend getting a second opinion from another medical professional if possible.

Not far fetched. If you sensitive kidneys many things will effect it.
