Bed time Urinating

I am a 93 year old widow and I constantly loose 2 Tablespoons of urine all day.

I have no control of it.

At night while in bed, I get up 3 times and I'm able to urinate in my urinal bottle.

I fill the bottle about half full, sometimes three fourths full.

Wondering why I am aware that I have to urinate during the night but not in the daytime.

HI Pricella,Its all about timing and training the bladder. Stop drinking water after 7pm or at least 2 hours or more before going to bed. Drink water first thing in the morning, even before coffee to get things going. Then drink plenty of water during the day. Then, make yourself follow a schedule, and the bladder will learn. I too pee two to three times a night. Once early, like around 1am, then again at 3, 3:30 and then again at 5:30 and that's because my husband gets up at that time sometimes and the whole house wakes up then. I try to sleep in until 8am.

I appreciate your kindness to me. Yes, my pee schedule is very much like yours during the night, Do you have a Basset Hound Dog? My son had a female one named Emily, she was like a family member.

I had bassets for a long while. I had two pure bred and a basset-a-dor (Basset lab mix) He was my heart dog( most special) he weight 115 pounds and when he passed, I said I could not do another basset so we have two smaller rescues. But I think there may be one more basset in my life someday.

You didnt mention anything about kidney damage, but frequent urination at night can be due to kidney damage. They will just give you a pill for it. If your blood preasure is good, I would just adjust by not drinking water etc. as others have commented. Screw more medication.

Thanks Roxanne, Yes, I certainly don't want to take medication if I can do without it.
