Is it common to have constant pain where kidneys are with ckd?

It can be if you have kidney stones. Tell your nephrologist and s/he can run a diagnostic test, usually an ultrasound, to determine the cause. It may not be kidney stones but that will be the doctor's call.Best of luck

I agree Mr K. I have pain sometimes in that area of my back and is caused by neuropathy.

I had consistent pain in my left kidney and after many tests it was found to be nonfunctional. Due to that it had to be removed which was done a month ago. I am happy to report that the pain I had is gone. Like Mr Kidney suggested get to your nephrologist to see why. Good Luck!
