The bubbles in your urine may be the result of the force of the stream. Foam is usually an indication of protein leaking. Speak to your physicians, nephrologist, and/or urologist or PCP. If you have CKD you should be watching your protein intake very closely. I've included an article below about high chloride in lab tests. If this is a one-time event your physician may not do anything more than order more frequent labs and monitor your numbers more closely. If this has been a regular issue in your previous labs, read the article, and develop questions to ask your doctor.

Best of luck.

You apparently have very low sodium and chloride levels. Normal levels, according to my lab reports, are between 137-146 for sodium and 98-108 for chloride. These fall in the family of minerals known as electrolytes and are instrumental in having your organs (particularly your heart) perform well. In my opinion, kidney patients are generally, but not always, in the higher ranges with electrolytes (probably due to difficulty in flushing them out), but I'm only a caregiver to my husband (now on dialysis) so can't speak for all. I do know that electrolytes need to be optimally synchronized. When sodium and chloride and others fall too low, it's easy to get arrhythmias, fainting episodes, and more. I speak from experience as someone who restricted sodium in meals to support my husband; I was nearly hospitalized when my sodium and chloride fell to abnormal levels. A chat with your doctor will send you in the right direction.

I have always had low sodium levels...I am stage 5..not yet on dialysis..I also have high blood pressure which means no added salt...but I started taking just a tiny bit of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt about once a week and my sodium went back into low normal range and i feel alot better...You might ask your Nephologist about a dash of Himalayan Salt once in awhile..My Nephologist said it is the iodine in table salt that is so harmful....the Himalayan Salt has no iodine..

Hi Renojade,My son had low sodium and chloride issues too. He was able to correct it by drinking Dasani bottle water (it has chloride) and adding vegetables like Swiss chard, celery that are high in natural sodium. Also since he does not add salt to his food he uses braggs liquid aminos in very small amounts and that along with sodium bicarbonate all helped to up his sodium and chloride numbers. Please check with your doctor before doing anything though.

All the very best.
