Can keto acids help to slow progression in someone that has moderate CKD and type 2 diabetes and HBP? Are they only recommended if someone is malnourished? I read about them being used more in Asia than in North America,

Keto acids for CKD with Type 2 diabetes & HBP
Keto acid supplementation is intriguing for those dealing with chronic kidney disease brought about by diabetes and high blood pressure. My husband, who is now on dialysis, has the same conditions as you. In a high stakes effort to get rid of my husband's diabetes and stabilize his kidneys in the later stages, his doctors put him on the keto diet with some substitutions for his kidney issues. Throughout, keto acid supplementation wasn't mentioned. Unfortunately, my husband lost the race to eliminate his diabetes before his kidneys failed. But my husband continued on the quest to beat the diabetes into submission and has recently come off all diabetes meds (insulin) to save his other organs. I personally think the entire keto field is a very intriguing area to monitor and explore. An interesting twist to our situation is that we're located just outside WDC, a very multicultural region. My husband's medical team is a blend of Polynesian, Asian, Southeast Asian and White physicians, so their perspectives may be a bit broader than most. But it may be worthwhile for you, too, to discuss this matter with your professionals. I'd love to know what they have to say. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
