Has anyone else been diagnosed with Intradialytic Hypertension? If so, what did you do to manage it or mitigate it? I'm aware that peritoneal dialysis doesn't have this complication. Thanks.
Hello steve680. I don’t know if you will find this helpful (I do hope so). From what I was able to understand, the advice they offer seemed to be lowering sodium intake in your diet (something they advise to pretty much all of us, I guess). This was the best one, I thought, that contained the most helpful information. There wasn’t much else available on the topic of intradialytic hypertension that actually provided any suggestions on how to manage it.
Has your nephrologist offered any ideas on how this problem can be better managed? I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful than this. Please let me know how this comes along. I wish you all my best. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, dear. God bless. 🙏🙏😊👍👍
Hello again steve680. I hope you don’t mind, but I took the liberty of looking up Clonidine on drugs.com (I’ve also copied the link below in case you may want to look it over).
I would certainly never tell anyone to go against doctor’s orders, but if you feel it’s necessary once you’ve reviewed the side effects of this drug, perhaps you could discuss with your nephrologist a different medication that doesn’t carry with it so many dangerous and adverse effects. Some of them (actually, pretty much all of them) just seem so nasty. Of course it’s up to you. That’s just my opinion, I suppose.
I’ve been affected myself in very negative ways by some of my past prescribed medications, (effects that I continue to live with even to this day), so I tend to be a little guarded when it comes to this type of thing. I guess I also try to protect others as well! Lol!
I hope you find this somewhat helpful, and I hope also, that your doctor can find something more friendly to relieve your blood pressure issues. Please keep me posted as to how you come along with this! All my best to you, Steve! God bless. 🙏😊👍
