We do not diagnose here. You need to see a doctor and explain your concerns. Explain about the dark urine and smell. There are many things that can cause that such as a UTI. It could be you are dehydrated. There is no way we could be able to tell you the cause.
Hi Malinda9! The dark and foamy urine could be caused by anything from a bladder / urinary tract infection, to just simply not drinking enough water daily. Also the pains in your back could also be attributed to kidney issues, but then it could also be just something as simple as a pulled muscle.
Unfortunately, we can’t really tell you with any degree of certainty what the cause might be, because none of us here are able to diagnose. You need a professional to help verify that. I know it’s probably very difficult and frustrating for you to get an in-person appointment with any member of your medical care team, but you should try even a telephone appointment with your PCP in order to share your concerns with her / him. If it is just an infection, that is certainly something you want to address as soon as you can, as infections can get serious and do damage as well.
In the meantime, try drinking more water daily, and see if that helps with the colour and foaminess. Drinking is important for everyone, CKD or no CKD. It helps flush impurities out of your system. If you notice an odour, this can sometimes indicate an infection. Try some cranberry juice also. Try to remain well hydrated. Speak to your doctor. Can’t stress that enough. Perhaps he / she can prescribe something to remedy that.
I wish there was more I could say to help you. Please keep us posted on what you find out. I wish you all my best. Stay well, and God bless. 😊👍
I agree with the others. You could also try to decrease your protein intake just a little bit to see if it helps the bubbly urine. Eat fresh fruits and veggies and stay away from processed foods. Lower your salt intake and increase fluids. These are all things you can try gently not a lot or go crazy with it until you can see your doctor. I would recommend you ask to see one asap to have a urine sample. If you can't see face to face do a telehealth and ask for urine test CBC and renal panel. Your doctor will be able to tell some things from those tests.
As you instructed i went to a nephrologist and asked all the questions which i gathered in my mind.
Q1. What would be this lump on my right flank.Could it be a symptom of a kidney cancer?
Q2.why i always have this chronic back pain?
Q3.Even though i try to drink water as much as i can the urine output is not satisfactory.why is that?(i meant to say very low)
Q4.urine is dark and very foamy.even after i flushed the toilet little bit of faominess remains.
I asked above questions which burdens me and he done the blood and urine tests.and his reply really surprised me.
A.your reports are normal.even you have the symptoms of a kidney patient surprisingly your reports are good.My advice is drink water as much as possible.
Then i asked him,Can these reports show another results in another time.and he replied that it can't be different.
But that was not sufficient for me to take.i asked him that what can i do to know exactly whether i do have a kidney issue or not.he suggested that i can do a kidney biopsy. Is it a good idea to do a biopsy.
What do you think.any concerns ideas and advices are welcome.
Hello again Malinda9! You asked about a renal biopsy, so I looked up the risks of a renal biopsy and there are a few. I’ve copied the link below for you if you want to look it over.
My suggestion would be to discuss this further with your family doctor and / or your nephrologist. If she / he doesn’t feel that it is necessary, I wouldn’t put myself through that. But that’s just me, I suppose. Lol! (I’m a little scaredy cat! Lol!)
But you should know that a kidney biopsy can cause an infection and bleeding and / or clotting in the urine, as well as bleeding from the biopsy site. Also, it can also come with fever, chills and possible weakness and even fainting. (Read the information in the link below under, “Risks of a Renal Biopsy”.)
Of course, it is completely up to you. If you feel that this is something you need to do in order to provide yourself with some solid answers to these issues you’re having, then you should do whatever you feel is right, that will lend you some peace of mind.
I hope you will find the information helpful, dear. Please continue to keep us posted. I wish you all my best! Take care of yourself, and do keep well! God bless. 😊👍🙏
I take care of my back pain by going to see my acupuncturist. The urine problems, I take care of with Sodium bicarbonate tablets. Better see your PCP with this. I did, and he okayed it.
