My dad just started dialysis. Is Nepro High Protein a safe and good supplement to take? How about Low Protein? Our city went on lockdown and we can't even contact our nephrologist. He was also treated for gout and contracted pneumonia a few days after leaving the hospital, so got hospitalized again for another week. Sometimes he has trouble keeping solid food down. Thank you.

HI Jaimekings,

I am sorry, but these are questions you really need to ask his doctor about. When he goes in for dialysis, ask someone there if they can help you. I would be VERY careful at this point to use supplements without doctor approval.

Hope your Dad is on the mend and more comfortable with dialysis. I am not as yet on dialysis and am trying to slow it down with diet changes. Have to limit protein and my doctor has suggested plant protein powder., Organic and/or Reva which Costco carries...best price. Suggest you talk to a renal dietician regarding diet and protein.
