I am currently in remission from Minimal Change Disease and taking steroids, am I a high risk due to the steroids supressing my immune system.?

Have you contacted you doctor’s office for advice? I did this a little over a week ago because I wanted definitive, medically sound guidance specific to my situation.

I was encouraged to self isolate myself and go out only for labs and doctors’ appointments.

Hello there :) Im wondering this myself. I have a check up on monday and will ask my doctor then, I can fill you in on her answer if you want!

I was diagnosed with MCD last may and have been on steroids since. Ive had 2 relapses, both times when tapering Prednisolone to a lower dose. So havent been able getting off steroids as I have to go back on a higher dose when relapsing. Im now on 7,5 mg so I think thats good, hoping i dont get a third relapse now with all of this going on!

Are you on a high dose?

Prednisolone and the disease itself can make you vulnerable, i wqs told this in november last year and was recommended to have the flu vaccine to be safe :)
