Hi Ra,

shingles will spread. this is the normal treatment for shingles. But it takes a while to work. Just be careful because it is not a great drug for people with renal impairment. But having just gone through the shingles, I took a 7 day dose of a similar drug but it was better for my kidney.

Hang in there, shingles are awful. Try not to scratch or pick.

I have been given 7 days aswell to see how I get on with the tablets. Currently feeling slight dizzy and ears feel congested is that normal? After 7 days I hope it gets better. I also stress alot and tend to look up the symptoms and it sometimes triggers me to to panic. Really worried but trying to stay positive.

I think it was brought on by stress. It started one afternoon in fall when I was in the sun. I thought it was from the sun. But it spread across my check up and around and eventually in to my eye... back down my nose, up over the eye into my scalp and down my head. It followed a facial nerve. It took two months to clear. I looked hideous for a very long time. It caused an blood clot in my eye which slowly, and I do mean slowly got smaller. It was like having Vaseline in my eye all the time and driving at night was horrible. …. here is four months later and I still have some vision issues. I have one scar on my upper eye lid but other than that they went away. I got the first shot of the series Shintex. Get it if you can but you have to wait a few months for you to be symptom free.
