Hello oliver61! As a diabetic, I need to do my best to steer clear of food items and beverages that are sweetened with sugar and honey. But, from the bit of research that I’ve done online, as long as you have no other health issues that prevent you from consuming sugar and honey, stage 5 CKD patients can enjoy honey in their diet without it posing any problems. I hope you will find this helpful. These are the little things we, in the CKD community unfortunately, need to concern ourselves with, aren’t they? I certainly miss the days when I was able to knock back coffee, tea, sugar and honey without any questions! Thank goodness for these small mercies, though, huh? Lol! All the best to you, Oliver.
