B2M levels

Anyone have any insight on what average B2M levels are at different stages of CKD? This is the first time I have seen this on my tests and I can’t find any reference ranges. I am stage 4 - 19 gfr - 6.4 B2M - 44 BUN and 2.74 Creatinine.

Doctors usually don't test B2M levels unless they suspect bone marrow cancer. Not really a marker for CKD.

Below is information on why B2M may be tested but not what the values are. I’ve read through several articles but can’t find what levels are for different stages or differentiating disease types of the kidneys.

B2M is a way to measure proteinuria. From what I understand it's just another way to measure how much protein you are spilling out. It's also a way for a doctor to tell how much damage has been done and if your CKD is getting worse. Do not know anything about what is normal or what your numbers mean.

Thank you. The normal range is 1.0 - 2.6 mine is 6.4 so just wondering if that is moderately or severely high.

Best thing to do is to ask your doctor what a level of 6.4 means. I tried looking on line and no where could I find levels?@#
