I wonder if my kidney is still allright ...?

Im 29 years old, Fit and active male , 165cm / 58 kg , Asian, do Weight Lifting 5 times a week and quite muscular

I consume quite high protein a day for muscle build

I did blood test for kidney function and the result is

Creatinine 1.14 mg/dl

eGFR 87 ml/min/1.73m2

I see normal GFR supposed to be above 90. My urine test showed no Albumin and all urine test showed negative result

Is my kidney fine ? Thanksss

Muscle breakdown due to weight lifting does increase creatinine in the blood. Some advice to stop the heavy weights for at least 5 days before doing the test. Also, the high protein diet could be the cause of your decreased gfr.

Thanks for the Reply

Yes i read about that too most bodybuilder have more Creatinine levels

And the eGFR formula is affected by the Creatinine serum itself
