Level dropped
What do you mean by a four level drop—from Stage I to Stage IV?
I was eGFR 26 now and I am 22.
Are you in the care of a Nephrologist?
I am sorry to hear this news.
Please educate yourself, and do all that you can.
There are some great resources here.
You have to remember too, that your eGFR is but an estimate of how well your kidneys are filtering. The change could be the result of some dehydration, or stress on your kidney brought on by exercise or eating a lot of protein before having your labs. Your next labs, it could go back up, or this could be where you are at now.
Hope you following a renal diet and drink plenty of water every day!
In the USA. I'm not on dialysis. No meds for kidneys.
You may find that focusing on both diet and hydration will help slow progression or stabilize your data for some time. I’ve been able to stabilize my data for 3-4 years at a time by following my nephrologist’s treatment plan including dietary restrictions.
And, yes, it’s important for you, and all of us, to learn as much as possible about CKD and how it’s presenting in our bodies specifically. And having a good medical team is critical.
Wishing you nothing but the best!

Thank you. My primary care physician has told me I need to drink more water. My nephrologist is pleased with my progress. Currently I am in a nursing home and do not have control of my diet. Will be going to court at the end of the month to terminate my state here. Will follow your advice.
