Doctors....
My PCP is also a DO and I love her. Knowledgeable, listens well, treats the whole patient and is open to alternative medication, diet. She assisted me in finding my present nephrologist; we both like him a lot and they openly communicate after each visit as she told me as much.
If your DO is like mine, he is a keeper and will also be a great resource.
Ask him to recommend a nephroligist.
The important thing is that you set up a medical team who both communicates with you and each other, as if they don't, they are not worth having.
As far as posting; please do as initiating conversation will yield responses.
I am delighted that you have become a part of this wonderful support group and look forward to continuing to communicate.
I’d definitely agree that you need to see a nephrologist. Putting together a strong medical team is critical. I’ve just shifted some of the members of my medical team at the beginning of the summer specifically because two of them weren’t working effectively with either me or one another. I’ve now got a very good situation. It has made a huge difference in both the quality of care I’m receiving but also how well I’m feeling and functioning.
