Has anyone's GFR gone up? A few months ago, mine was 29%

Now it is 42.8%

What might cause it to go up?

Your GFR is only a snapshot of where you are at the time the labs were drawn. There are a lot of things that can cause your numbers to rise and fall. Below is an article I posted some time ago and hopefully it will explain it all to you.

Mine went from a 36.6 to a 54.0, after three months of really watching what I ate. I will have another blood draw in July, so I am hoping that it has not gone down. I do believe that we are capable of helping our kidneys so that they do not have to work so hard.

Mine also went up after a few months on the diet but since has declined. Agree with Mr K. that it is only a snap shot. I keep a list of the numbers and do an average.
