Not going well...

So here I am with my not so successful past weeks.

My weight was going down for like 3-4weeks quite steadily, then I at least managed to hold on to the same for another 2 weeks but now past 2 weeks it is just up and up and up.

I didn't even log in to Thursday weigh in as I don't wanna see the number as a real thing on my screen :-/

But truth is I have lost like 3.5kg and now I have gained half of it back again.

I just can't find the time, energy, strength to stick to the food plan. I can't find time to prepare my snacks and lunches upfront to take to work. When I get home I am often super hungry or craving sugar. No workout either :(

And I know why. I know why weight is going up. I know I am eating crap lately. I just keep failing to get back on track :-/

It sucks :-/

Hello Simonaz

You just need to break the circle for a couple of days to get back on track. The problem is crap food makes you want more of the same and reduces energy levels so you reach for the bad stuff. Cold and wet weather doesn’t help

Just remember how good it felt those first successful weeks . Take a few minutes each morning when you wake up to be mindful of that feeling and a few minutes each night before you fall asleep to remind yourself why you decided to lose weight and recommit to doing so. You have done it before and can do it again

The mornings are lighter so jump out of bed a bit earlier and fix your healthy lunch and see if you can get a short brisk walk in before the work day starts

Do it because you’re worth it

I used to walk 3-4 km to walk before we moved to another country.

But here it is not possible. I need to get my son ready, get him to kindegarten and then catch a bus at precisely 7:21. Otherwise next bus is in 30min and then I am coming in late.

So walking part of the way to work is also not an option. If I would walk first half, I would have to leave home at least 30min earlier to catch the bus somewhere along the way. Walking second half of the way would mean walking on bike Lanes in between highways with no lights in this dark cold hell here :)

I try to walk when leaving work. But kindergarten still closes at a certain time and I need to get there before that time :) so cant spend 1.5hours on the way from work. Also often I need to shop and walking with 6kg bag with groceries for 2km is not exactly fun :-/

Normally I do find a way to walk at least 1,5km a day but time is really an essence and it is extremely tough to plan. Then when weather and tiredness kicks in, it is just so easy to skip

You've had some great ideas from pcrw and posting this has brought you out from hiding. You MUST post on the weigh-in on Thursday, as the support you'll receive is all the more important, when things aren't going well.

You should log onto the Daily Diary, as well, because you'll get great tips for planning, which is key to success.

You CAN do this and we can help :)

Sorry to hear you are struggling Simonaz & am sure lots of us have been there before or still are. Difficult when we’re busy. Coming on here are the first steps again so well done! Just take a day at a time. Make yourself a list of your favourite healthy foods & stock them in your frrdge/cupboards. Look at menu ideas on here too! Good luck - you can do this! I was struggling & had a good day yesterday aiming for my weigh in Thursday hopefully I’ll have stayed the same. I’ll look out for you! 🤗

I can hear the disappointment in your post Simonaz . I have had a period of time where I haven't planned and lost my way. Somebody told me to concentrate on just one healthy meal a day to get me back on track. This is what I did for a couple of days and then realised it was making me think about every meal, try it. Get rid of the junk food from the house so that you can't go in and eat all that sugary food, it just makes everything worse. Commit to spending a little bit of time in the kitchen each day and batch cook some healthy meals so that you have back ups in the freezer. Do you have a slow cooker? This is a great way and not that time consuming, of having a good healthy meal to walk through the door to at the end of the day. Certainly worth investing in one, if you don't have one.

You have had great advice from pcrw and moreless. If you are still struggling, come and join the Strugglers Club as well as weighing in and entering your food on the DD. There is so much support out there, make the most of it.

You can can can do this :)

Don't forget to look at the link Moreless gave you and then please lock your post :)

Thank you for your long comment :)

I am de-sugaring the house. But I am good in cooking and baking so even if there is no chocolate, candy, chips etc I am still capable to whip up something like cake, dessert etc :))

But when I eat properly and have enough carbs, I don't have this need when I come home. Or I just take a small chocolate piece for the taste.

hi Simonaz. I am going to welcome myself to your club as I am in the same boat. I was going strong for about 6 weeks and let myself down. I have gained 20 pounds back of the 25 I lost and am desparate for motivation. I am down on myself even tho I know I can do this. I have eaten more junk in the last six weeks, enough to choke a horse if you will forgive the analogy. I have no one to blame but myself and am wallowing in it now. I opened my computer this morning, it is 4 am here in texas, and decided to quit wallowing and try again. I know what to do and how to do it, and I am feeling like I want to do it again. my shirts are too tight again and I hate wearing a 3x when everyone at work wears a large! (or a small). this next 2 weeks I am going to concentrate on eating more fiber and drinking more water and following the nhs 12 week program so much closer than before. I have faith that the 2 of us can do this and with a little push to each other, we will. join me! chin up and heres to us!

Let's do it together then :)

I will start with the NHS 12weeks now (again)

:)

I only have 3-4 dresses that fit now. :-/

I had 64kg before pregnancy, then 85kg just before birth and half a year after my son was born I was back to 65.

So cannot blame pregnancy kilos as I lost all of them :)

Then I went back to work and slowly started gaining. Time really is an issue for me.

I was around 70-75 most of the time but then with moving, new country, less time, stress I have eaten myself up to 85kg again. Yep, same weight as on the day I went to giver birth to my son...

so I did the math and I weigh 117 kg even that sounds bad! oh well I am going to try and we can do it together!

Big hugs Simonaz , I'm here too right now. I've stopped beating myself up about it as guilt is the first battle. Just take baby steps back onto the right track.

If you are struggling to prepare food on the go just try your best to make the right choices at the cafe/sandwich bar. Once you've said no to the meal deal once it will get easier.

Good luck x

I wonder about giving yourself a bit of slack, buying some prepared stuff for a few days to get yourself back on the wagon. Or just focusing on one thing I've had a rough couple of weeks and rather than exercising most days I've just gone swimming once a week. I've also tried to focus on the healthy meals I really like, so I'm enjoying my food.
