Welcome, one of the administrators will be in contact shortly and congratulations on making the decision to loose weight and get healthy. Have you decided how you are going to do- follow a particular diet, calorie counting or joining weight loss group e,g,slimming world or weight watchers?
There will be someone on the forum who is on or tried one of the above if you aren't sure which way to go. If you have health problems I would probably discuss with your GP first, just in case some of the diets may make things worse for use health wise. I am basing my eating/exercise plan on the 12 week NHS weight loss plan which is calorie counting and advice on exercise, eating out etc- it focuses on helping you to change your lifestyle rather than just focusing on food. I started it in January and though the 12 weeks have come and gone I still follow it and refer back to it from time to time. Others on the forum follow 5:2 diet and all its various variations, paelos (I could have spelt it wrong) and organisational diets- British Heart Foundation and Diabetic Society based on their health conditions.
Good luck with whatever you decide and I am sure you will loose weight- have you a target weight in mind?
The best plan I ever followed was the rosemary Conley which was calorie counting I was at slimming world for nearly two years I am a stone over my target on it and for the last six months I was kind off just putting a pound on and taking one off so I think I might try the NHS plan this time
