Hope you had a great weekend!

I thought I had done really well with regards to watching what I ate etc but didn't figure having my "time of the month " appear would make such a difference to the scales!!!😲😲 adding an extra 3lbs at least to mine 😣😣

Having suffered from symptoms of PCOS periods were unpredictable so really noticing a change now they are regular and I am watching the scales lol

My question is this ; just out of interest- have you noticed a change in weight both before and during your cycle?

Thanks in advance

Hi there - I find I crave carbs far more. I also get tired and that makes me want to eat more as well. Not sure of the answer. x

I had a craving for chocolate, for three weeks of the month I disliked chocolate (didn't touch the stuff), the 4th week I couldn't get enough

I'm afraid I'm post menopause now, Ginger, but I remember that I gained most premenstrually and that could be as much as 5 - 7lbs and started losing the weight during my period. However, I didn't weigh myself daily then, so I couldn't tell you what the fluctuations were.

Don't worry, by next week, you'll be back to normal :)

Most definitely! Sugar and carb cravings added to pre-menstrual bloating πŸ˜• Slow release carbs like oats and fruit and exercise really helped 😊

Good luck!

Ack!......Girl stuff...shouldn't have been so nosy, too late...must

get.....

away.........

One of the reasons hawk watching the scales can be disheartening, it's a natural cycle but will fluctuate, I just lock myself in the garage for a week till it's all over! ;)

I tend to maintain or put on a pound in the week leading up to it even if I don't eat anymore (water retention I guess???) And then I lose it once it starts. It's annoying as hell but at least you know that you haven't actually put on weight and it will fall off as soon as it's all over

Hi Melissajoines90!

That's what I am hoping for. Been careful watching my food intake and making sure that I continue to exercise even when I feel awful ugh!!

Thanks for your reply

Yes me too. Try plotting your weight on a graph and you'll probably see a pattern emerge. Dont worry about it too much. I find having a monthly goal is useful too as you look at things over a longer time frame.

I would say perfectly normal - it happens to probably nearly all of us unfortunately. Don't worry you are doing really well with your 2 stone loss. Great job πŸ‘πŸŽ‰ and best of luck for the remainder of your journey πŸ€

yes, my stomach blows up like a balloon!!! I also am usually hungry ALL of the time for the three days before getting my period, which doesn't help. don't worry about it too much, it's just something to get used to if you weigh yourself regularly. I also go easier on myself and allow myself slightly more carbs/sweet things within reason, and I make an effort to continue with exercise as normal.

Actually my period symptoms, especially cramps, have become a lot lighter since I've lost a lot of weight!

Thank you for your reply!

I found that I am hungry in the run up to my period and feel bloated throughout it.

I am weighing myself- probably too often- but I am noticing so definitely seeing a change.

Since losing weight I have more tense cramps leading up to and during and heavier too- not fun.

Just hoping weight gain is all cycle lol
