Hi,

Just wondering how people cope when on their cycles with cravings. I crave pop and crisps whilst on mine and really need to nip it in the bud any suggestions or tips on what I can do please.

You know when you lose weight, will you take the big off your name? It makes me sad to see ou refer to yourself like that. In relation to cravings, I think we need to listen to our cravings and work out why they are there. Are we hungry? Are we thirsty? If so eat/ drink something sensible and see if it helps. If it is an emotional things then I try to distract myself by painting my nails or cleaning my teeth. The problem with giving into the craving is that one crisp leads to another and it is easy to let a moment become a bad day. People talk of treat days - I believe treat DAYS should just be for Xmas day and my birthday. Treat meals are fine but not treat days so try not to let your cravings take over a whole day or you won't lose weight without starving the next day and I don't recommend being hungry. Good luck. As long as you are losing overall I would worry about odd gains.

Hi EllaMidlands

Thank you, will look at changing name on here if can work out how to do it lol. Will look at why i crave maybe its not hunger but more thirsty or because I am bored or feeling emotional. Thank you for that tip especially about treat days. I don't agree either on treat days but the occasional treat meal is okay. Good luck to you too and thank you for the advice.

You can change name on the settings within your profile even on a mobile which I use. It says you can only do it twice. I changed mine really near the beginning of my time here as I realised I had put too much info in the name.

since I've been following a low carb & sugar diet my monthly craving have calmed down a lot. just make sure you are eating enough of healthy foods everyday and especially on your 'danger' times and hopefully the urge to eat those treat's will reduce x good luck

Hi

I get a real craving for chocolate (although actually that is most days lol)

If they are things you enjoy - rather than cut them out and feel deprived why not try sugar free pop - and have you tried making your own crisps? they are really easy to bake and taste soooo much better with far less calories....good luck x
